Purpose:
Asthma is a disease indicated by wheezing, chest tightness and cough that can lead to lung function decline, hospitalization and sometimes death. We do not completely understand the reasons behind persistent inflammation or why viral infections occur more frequently in patients with asthma. We believe that specific biological processes, with overlapping and corresponding functions in the lung, do not work correctly. We hope to explore the reasons for these problems. This study is being done for research purposes only; it is not being done as a part of your routine health care.
Your participation in this study can last anywhere between 2-12 weeks depending on your availability. There are a total of 3 clinic visits.
Eligibility:
Individuals who are 18-65 years of age who have a diagnosis of asthma may be eligible to participate in this study.
